Did You Ever Get One Of Those Days?

Did you ever get one of those days boys, did you ever get one of those days.  When nothing goes right from morning to night?

Well it wasn't that bad but still........

We woke to a beautiful morning in Florida Caverns SP.  I took the pups for a long walk out one of the trails near the campground.  The dogs loved it as much as I did.  The morning sounds and smells were you would expect in deep forest.

We got off to an early start for us, 9:15 am.  Our trip plan for the day was supposed to be about six hours.  All was going fine until we got to Montgomery, AL.  There both of our electronic devices gave us erroneous info.  We went around in circles for two hours trying to get back on our route.  We shut the things off and dug out the map.  We had things going right in short order.  So much for technology.

I had to stop to go to the bathroom.  We pulled into a big vacant lot that looked harmless enough until we got into it.  There were deep holes everywhere.  I wasn't sure how we would get out of there without doing damage to the trailer.  I went in to do my business and discovered the freezer door had popped open and the contents were strewn all over the floor.  A cabinet door was open and a window shade broke.  Darlie got out and guided me out of the lot helping me miss most of the biggest holes.  We are talking a foot to a foot and a half each.  I did manage to break a safety chain in the process but we got out ok.

No she ain't been drinking.  We're Baptist.

Things got better after that but we were way behind our expectations.  We had set our sights on Starkville KOA in Mississippi.  We rolled in at 5:30 pm.  The dogs are enjoying this park.  It is open and spacious with lots of grass and large trees full of squirrels.  They were entertained until nightfall.

Tomorrow we will make a short hop up to Marion, Arkansas to another KOA.  Good campsites between here and Hermann seem in short supply unless we go way off our course.  We will still have a fairly easy drive on Saturday from there to Hermann.

That's it for today.  Nothing real exciting.  Met some nice folks here tonight who are starting out on their first RV trip.  They had a ton of worries and questions.  I think I helped lay many of those things to rest for them.
