New Awning

We are still getting ready for our trip.  We bought new awning fabric as ours was pretty weather beaten.   Bob Billingham and his helper, Steve, came out last evening and installed it for us.  They did a great job and it is something I am glad I didn't try to tackle myself.

We have been loading up all the things we think we will need on the road.   We found a couple of drawers that had been repaired by the previous owner.  They were sticking real badly. They didn't do the best job repairing them.  I took them apart and repaired them.  Now they slide effortlessly.

As it stands now, we hope to leave sometime after Mother's Day.  It is still cold out west where we are headed.  We don't want to run into a late snowstorm.

If you are in the Cape Coral/Ft. Myers, Fl. area and are in need of a reliable RV serviceman give Bobby's RV Service a call at 239-603-4895.  He knows his stuff and prices his work fairly.

Still making preparations

I thought by now we would have taken a short trip somewhere to check out all the systems.  However, we have had many distractions over the past few weeks and that has not been possible.  That doesn't mean we aren't still making preparations to go.

Darlie has reupholsetered the dinnette cushions and the sofa cover.  It looks fresh and new.  We had new air bags put in the front springs and had everything mechanical checked out.  I bought a new awning that will soon be installed to replace the old one that has seen better days.

We have a few more obligations to fulfill over the next couple of weeks.  Then, if nothing else comes up, we plan to leave for our cross country trip.  We don't really have a plan.  We will try to do the southwest before it gets too hot.  Then we will work our way north along the Rockies as summer heats up.

We are in no hurry and we are on no time schedule.  We will get where we are going when we get there.
