Cleaning Day June 11, 2010

We awoke to a very cool morning.  It was 50 degrees inside the MH.  I kicked on the heat to take the chill off.  It was 5:30 AM.  The stream was roaring as loud as ever.  In the bedroom you couldn't hear it as loud as out at the dinette.  I am glad because it would have been hard to sleep with all the noise.

We broke camp about about 9:00 AM.  We decided to make our way up to Truckee a short way off.  We would check into a full service campground to do laundry and clean the RV.

Interstate 80 was extremely rough.  I think it is because trucks use chains all winter to climb over the pass.  There were places all along the road where trucks could pull over and put on chains.  They are required by law in the winter.  Along the road there are poles with reflective tape on top.  They are eight to ten feet tall.  They mark the roadway for the snowplows when they get a heavy snowfall.

The rough road took its toll.  We lost a hubcap.  The highway had hubcaps lying everywhere.  This must be a common problem for others too.  We have found California highways to be pretty rough.   It was so bad on Rt 99 the other day we cracked our windshield.   It is a crack about 8 inches long coming up from the bottom.  I will have to see where I can get it replaced.  I don't imagine every windshield place has ready access to a Winnebago windshield.

We have gotten our value out of our insurance.  The towing insurance saved us $575 last month.  The windshield won't be cheap either.

We stopped at Coachland Campground.  They have a laundry and wifi.  The tariff was pretty high though.  We paid $39.50 with our senior discount.  I imagine it is because of its close proximity to Lake Tahoe.

Darlie did the laundry while I cleaned the inside of the RV.  You would not believe how dirty it gets in here.  We are both tired now.  We will spend the rest of the day relaxing.  Tomorrow we will probably drive around the lake then who knows where.

We didn't take any photos today.
