Mother's Day

We had a very busy and fun Mother's Day.  We started out our day by going to Faith Assembly of God in Orlando.  They had a very good Mother's Day service.  The pastor gave a testimony of his own mother's faithfulness in the midst of difficulty.  He told how her strong character shaped him as the man he has become.  Mom's sure have lots of influence in the lives of their children.  Our society is a reflection of how well they have been doing their jobs.  A real mom puts her children first.  By living her life before her children she is teaching them her values, good or bad.  I don't think there is a more important God given profession than being a good mom.

After church, John took us to Chippotle, a Mexican place.   They make the best burritos I have ever had. We stuffed ourselves shamelessly.

So as not to start my post off with a negative note, I neglected to tell you about waking up and walking out to the kitchen and stepping into a large pool of cold water.  Water was pouring out of the air conditioner vent.  Something was clogged up.  When we got home from church and lunch, John and I went up on the roof and took the air conditioner apart and discovered that the weep holes that drain the water were filled with dirt.  The problem was quickly remedied.

Darlie tried to take a nap but I think John and I kept her awake working on recharging the engine air conditioner.   Two cans of refrigerant wasn't enough.  We picked up two more and will try again in the morning.

For dinner, John had made reservations at the Vine in Orlando.  Darlie had a nice fillet mignon.  It was a special treat for both of us.

John and Darlie closed out the day with a few games of pool.  I guess Mom still has the touch cause she beat him a couple of games.  Good night for now.  We may move on in the morning but we aren't sure yet.
