Another cool day

We awake each morning to the roar of the fleet going out between 6 and 7 AM.  I don't know how many boats make up the number but is is considerable.  There are boats that take parties fishing and others that take you for tours around the fjords.  We have not taken one to date.  I don't think I could stand the cold out there that long.  The wind is raw.  Surprisingly, we are enjoying it.  We know back home it is very hot and very humid right now.

There are several bald eagles that compete with the seagulls for a fresh meal.  Darlie has taken dozens of photos and video of them on the beach.  Today she was treated to a special visitation.  A juvenile bald  eagle sat out front enjoying a meal of a fish carcass.

She also had to take a million photos of a rabbit that came by.  She got a video of two crows harassing it.  One of the crows went up and pecked it on the butt.  It was pretty humorous.  This afternoon when the tide was coming in, we stopped by the stream inlet to watch people trying to snag some red salmon that had started to run.  Snagging is legal in salt water.   We saw a couple of large salmon caught while we were there.

Darlie is making a big casserole tonight.  Using the oven helps keep the RV warm.  Buddy's favorite sleeping place is right in front of the furnace duct.  It blows so hot I can't keep my hand there for very long but she doesn't seem to mind it at all.  She has been having fun sniffing other dog dodo.  With many campers here with their dogs, she has a large variety to choose from.
See our old bread truck up there?

It is finally starting to get nearly dark at night.  Around 1 AM it is about as dark as a full moon lit night.  It is much easier to sleep.  It stays light so late though we still stay up way past our normal bedtime.
We had to sit on cushions not because the rocks wre too hard.  It was because they were too cold.
